These terms cover chiefcustomerofficer.io, operated by West Canning Media, LLC ("we," "us"). By using this site or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to them. This site doesn't have accounts or process payments — Uncommon, our separate paid community, has its own terms for that.
1. The content
The newsletter, podcast, and the two resource docs (7 Principles of a CS Organization, Rolling Out AI Adoption in CS) reflect the opinions and experience of the people who wrote them. They're not professional, legal, or financial advice, and we're not responsible for decisions made based on them.
2. The CS Skills Library
The GitHub repo is separately MIT-licensed — see the repo itself for the exact terms. In short: fork it, use it, build on it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape or bulk-download content from this site outside the access we intentionally provide for AI agents and search tools via
robots.txt,llms.txt, and our markdown content negotiation - Use automated tools to bypass rate limits or extract content at a volume beyond normal reading
- Use the newsletter signup or lead magnet forms to submit fake or someone else's email address
- Use this site to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content
4. Our content, your content
Everything we publish here — essays, episodes, the resource docs — is owned by West Canning Media, LLC unless otherwise licensed (like the GitHub repo). Don't reproduce or redistribute it without permission, beyond normal quoting/linking.
5. No warranty
This site is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or current.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, West Canning Media, LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.
7. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
